Rubrik (NYSE: RBRK) unveiled Rubrik Okta Recovery at Oktane 2025 in Las Vegas, a new offering designed to safeguard and restore Okta Identity Provider (IdP) environments through automated, immutable backups and granular, in-place recovery for critical Okta objects and metadata.
The introduction of Rubrik Okta Recovery extends Rubrik’s existing identity recovery capabilities, which currently cover Active Directory and Entra ID, positioning it as a solution for protecting all three IdPs. Okta serves as a foundational component for modern enterprise IT ecosystems, managing access to essential SaaS applications and internal systems. While Okta provides a secure and resilient platform, customers are responsible for managing the data and configurations within their tenant.
Rubrik Okta Recovery aims to introduce an additional layer of operational resilience, mitigating risks such as accidental misconfigurations, human error, or malicious changes. Without such protection, IT teams typically face the manual task of rebuilding critical data and tenant settings or developing complex custom workflows for data restoration, both of which are processes that are time-consuming and prone to error. Rubrik states that its new solution addresses this operational challenge by offering a faster and more dependable method for maintaining continuous identity availability.

Rubrik Okta Recovery is designed to provide customers with several key features: automated and on-demand backup for critical Okta objects, including Users, Groups, and Applications; immutable, air-gapped storage to secure backup data from attacks and tampering; granular, in-place recovery capabilities to rapidly restore misconfigured, compromised, or deleted objects directly within the live Okta tenant; and unified identity protection across Okta, Active Directory, and Entra ID from a single platform, aimed at reducing tool sprawl.
The Rubrik Okta Recovery solution is expected to become available in the coming months.
