Bank CenterCredit, the third-largest bank in Kazakhstan with approximately $13.29 billion in total assets, has selected Tallinn-based core banking software vendor Tuum to power its new Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) offering. The bank aims to use Tuum’s BaaS infrastructure to deliver embedded finance solutions to fintechs and corporate partners across Central Asia and the Middle East.
The partnership, announced on September 17, 2025, will initially see Tuum provide the accounts, payments, and card modules for the bank’s new BaaS service. This infrastructure will operate in conjunction with Bank CenterCredit’s existing legacy systems and will be deployed on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Outposts within the bank’s data centre, integrating cloud capabilities with on-premise operations. The service modules will be managed through the Tuum Orchestration platform.
Tuum has also revealed plans with Bank CenterCredit for future expansion to include lending and a fully integrated Islamic Banking offering, though a timeline for these developments has not been disclosed. Established in 1988, Bank CenterCredit currently serves over three million retail and corporate customers.
Bank CenterCredit has been preparing for its expansion into BaaS in recent years. In 2023, the bank partnered with Awara IT to implement Microsoft Fabric, enabling real-time data access. Last year, it collaborated with Ant Group Digital Technologies to focus on developing new digital solutions.
Tuum currently powers BaaS for a number of clients, including LHV Bank in Estonia, whose offering has reached over 200 fintech companies.
