Barge Design Solutions, a leading engineering and architecture firm, has achieved CMMC Level 2 certification with a perfect score of 110. This compliance was attained through an innovative hybrid strategy developed in partnership with CyberSheath, the largest CMMC managed service vendor.

With the Department of Defense’s final rule mandating CMMC compliance for contracts effective November 10, 2025, Barge Design Solutions needed a comprehensive solution to secure decades of historical project files, including both digital and physical controlled unclassified information (CUI), without hindering its resource-intensive design operations.

CyberSheath implemented a customized hybrid approach that integrated an Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment within Microsoft’s Government Community Cloud with specific physical safeguards designed for legacy CUI that could not be digitized. The assessment, conducted by Certified Third-Party Assessor Organization (C3PAO) Cybersec Investments, was completed ahead of the typical four-to-five-day schedule, demonstrating the efficacy of the preparation and the hybrid solution.
