Cash App Afterpay, a leading “Buy Now, Pay Later” (BNPL) provider, has announced an expanded partnership with Caleres, a global footwear company, to offer flexible payment options across its portfolio of footwear brands. This collaboration enables U.
S. shoppers to utilize Afterpay’s Pay in 4 and Pay Monthly services for purchases made both online and at select retail locations, aligning with the fall shopping season.
Through this partnership, customers can access Afterpay’s services when purchasing from Caleres’ brands, which include Famous Footwear, Sam Edelman, Allen Edmonds, Naturalizer, Vionic, Bzees, Circus NY, Dr. Scholls, Franco Sarto, Lifestride, Ryka, and ShoeBank. The in-store payment solution from Afterpay will be available at Famous Footwear, Sam Edelman, Allen Edmonds, and Naturalizer stores across the United States.
Willis Hill, Chief Information Officer for Caleres, stated, “The addition of Afterpay across our brand portfolio reflects our appreciation of how today’s customers want to shop and pay.” Hill noted the positive impact observed during the initial rollout, with customers embracing the flexibility of splitting purchases into manageable payments, whether online or in-store. This expansion allows Caleres to offer this payment option across its entire family of brands, making diverse footwear collections more accessible to consumers who prefer to pay over time.
Tanuj Parikh, Head of Sales, North America, Cash App Commerce, highlighted the timing of the partnership. “Fall is a time when consumers are actively refreshing their footwear, from cold-weather essentials to back-to-school shopping,” said Parikh. He added that the expanded partnership with Caleres brings flexible payments to their diverse portfolio of brands, enabling shoppers to manage their spending responsibly.
Afterpay’s platform continues to grow within the footwear and accessories category. Its Pay in 4 service allows customers to pay for purchases in four interest-free installments, typically due every two weeks. The Pay Monthly option offers payment plans ranging from 3 to 24 months, depending on the order amount. For Canadian customers, Afterpay’s Pay in 4 service is also available for online shopping at Allen Edmonds, Famous Footwear, Naturalizer, and Sam Edelman.
