KnowBe4, a cybersecurity platform focused on human risk management, has announced a new collaboration with Microsoft to integrate its SecurityCoach solution with the Microsoft Edge for Business browser. This integration is designed to leverage browser activity and native security signals to deliver real-time learning opportunities for users, addressing risky online behaviors within seconds of detection.
The collaboration aims to mitigate increasing browser security threats, which include a reported 140% increase in browser-based phishing attacks according to a Menlo Security report. The SecurityCoach and Microsoft Edge for Business integration targets risky activities such as password reuse, attempts to visit blocked sites, or efforts to bypass security warnings. As one of the human risk management platforms offering a built-in reporting connector in Microsoft Edge for Business, the integration is intended to help organizations within the Microsoft ecosystem optimize their KnowBe4 investments and enhance their security posture.
Stuart Clark, VP of product strategy at KnowBe4, stated, “This new integration presents an ideal opportunity to turn people-centric cybersecurity risks into teachable moments that will ultimately help to better protect businesses.” Clark also noted that this builds on KnowBe4’s existing innovation with Microsoft, referencing the earlier KnowBe4 Defend integration with Microsoft Defender for Office 365. He added that the solution bridges the gap between technical defenses and user behavior, transforming potential vulnerabilities into assets.
Arunesh Chandra, principal product manager for Microsoft Edge for Business, commented, “As the browser becomes the primary workspace for users, securing this critical endpoint is essential. We’re pleased to see KnowBe4 SecurityCoach integrate with Microsoft Edge to help organizations improve management of human risk and strengthen their security posture.”
KnowBe4’s platform empowers over 70,000 organizations globally to strengthen their security culture and manage human risk. The company offers an AI-driven platform for Human Risk Management, featuring modules for awareness and compliance training, cloud email security, real-time coaching, and crowdsourced anti-phishing, among others. The goal is to transform workforces from a potential attack surface into a strong defense.
