Trusty, an AI-powered estate platform designed to assist families in managing, assigning, and protecting intergenerational wealth, has announced the successful close of $1 million in pre-seed funding. The investment round was co-led by Relay Ventures and Graphite Ventures, with participation from Mistral Venture Partners and strategic angel investors, and is intended to accelerate the company’s product development and market expansion across Canada and the U.S.
The funding will specifically support the advancement of Trusty’s AI asset detection wizard, its in-app AI assistant, and the expansion of its proprietary workflows with partnered wealth and estate professionals.
Trusty was founded by Randy Frisch, who previously co-founded and scaled Uberflip into a prominent marketing platform. Frisch is now applying his expertise to address the complexities of wealth transfer, particularly in light of the estimated $84 trillion expected to transfer between generations in the coming decades, often referred to as “The Great Wealth Transfer.” While traditional estate plans, such as wills, primarily address legal and tax aspects, they often leave a gap concerning personal assets and intentions. Many individuals currently rely on handwritten Letters of Wishes, which can be easily misplaced and lack the detailed context needed by heirs and executors.
Founded in 2024 and rebranded to Trusty in 2025, the company aims to provide a secure platform for families to share both legal and personal wishes. Trusty seeks to simplify challenging life moments by helping families understand their wills, track personal items, and pass down meaningful keepsakes. The platform utilizes modern AI for image recognition and document analysis, and features a conversational AI assistant named “Max” to assist users in digitizing valuables, interpreting legal documents, and recording personal video messages for loved ones.
Randy Frisch, Founder and CEO of Trusty, stated, “I recognized the need for Trusty after my grandmother’s passing at 104, observing firsthand the emotional and logistical difficulties of managing an estate, even for well-prepared families with a will. My own experience showed drawers filled with important receipts, appraisals, and outdated estate documents that are often forgotten. Wills do not encompass the entire narrative, and the issues arising from misplaced assets and unclear intentions can lead to confusion and conflict. Trusty is designed to facilitate clear and secure sharing of wishes, aiming to unite families rather than divide them.”
Aaron Bast, Managing Director and General Partner at Graphite Ventures, a seed-stage venture capital firm that invests in early-stage B2B software and capital-efficient hardware companies, commented, “Having served as an executor myself, I understand the strain when families lack clarity. Legal documents exist, but the context—what’s valuable, who it’s for, where to find it—is often absent. This is precisely where Trusty provides a solution, acting as the connective tissue that families and advisors have long required.”
Alex Baker, Managing Partner at Relay Ventures, an independent VC fund manager established in 2008, added, “We prioritize investing in category-defining technologies and leaders, and Randy is achieving this in estate tech with Trusty. His combination of vision, founder experience, and product intuition makes this a compelling investment for us, and a valuable tool for any family or advisor.”
Trusty is designed to complement existing relationships with wealth advisors, streamlining the process for families to share critical information and intentions. Following successful consumer pilots, Trusty is now establishing commercial distribution partnerships. Among its initial collaborations is an exploration with Purpose Unlimited, a financial services firm founded by Som Seif, which aligns with its objective of equipping financial advisors with transformative solutions. Trusty is also partnering with banks, wealth management teams, insurance providers, and estate planning professionals to integrate its platform into daily advisory workflows. While primarily a consumer-first application where individuals maintain control over their data, Trusty is also engineered to serve as a core tool for advisors seeking a clearer, collaborative perspective on their clients’ estates.
The Trusty app is available for trial or purchase on the Apple App Store and Google Play, with more information accessible at www.mytrusty.ai.
