Engine, a travel and spend management platform, has introduced Omni Powered by Engine, a new developer-friendly hotel booking API, and announced its integration with Trimble’s commercial vehicle solutions, including Trimble Places, Trimble Road Call, and Trimble CoPilot, to provide seamless lodging access for truck drivers across North America.
Engine’s Omni API is designed to allow companies to embed Engine’s hotel booking experience directly into their existing websites or applications. The API leverages the same core technology as Engine’s primary platform, offering access to its extensive hotel network and booking capabilities without requiring partners to build their own supplier connectivity, payment infrastructure, search functionalities, compliance systems, or traveler support.
The platform provides access to over one million properties globally, featuring sub-second search performance, real-time rates, integrated payments, and 24/7 traveler support. Omni Powered by Engine offers clean API documentation, no volume minimums, and a full sandbox environment to facilitate integration. Key features include a quick-start integration path, AI-powered content enrichment, personalization, payment flexibility, and infrastructure designed for scalability.
Trimble, a global industrial technology company, is an initial collaborator, integrating Omni into its suite of transportation products. The integration with Trimble Places, a commercial location database covering over 6 million commercial vehicle locations worldwide, is currently available in North America. Future integrations are planned for Trimble Road Call, a vehicle breakdown module within Trimble TMT Fleet Maintenance, and Trimble CoPilot, a commercial-grade GPS navigation solution. These Trimble solutions collectively serve approximately 800,000 customers in North America.
Elia Wallen, CEO of Engine, stated that Omni was created as a developer-friendly infrastructure to empower partners with seamless hotel booking integration. Wallen noted that for professionals who live and work on the road, lodging is a crucial part of their experience, and Omni aims to simplify this process for companies like Trimble.
Seth Handler, Director of Partnerships and Channel Sales at Trimble, explained that integrating Omni by Engine into Trimble’s solutions aligns with their mission to provide essential tools for drivers. This collaboration aims to reduce friction in finding safe and reliable rest stops by delivering real-time hotel booking capabilities directly within Trimble’s ecosystem, enhancing the driver experience.
Engine, with over a decade of travel experience, is utilized by over one million travelers and 30,000 businesses. The platform offers features such as single invoice billing, flexible trip modifications or cancellations without extra fees, and a unified view of company travel and spend. The company is backed by Telescope Partners, Blackstone, Elefund, and Permira.
Omni Powered by Engine is available now for developers and organizations.
