GoFundMe Launches AI-Powered Smart Fundraising Coach to Enhance User Fundraising Success

Share It:

GoFundMe has launched its smart fundraising coach, an AI-powered assistant designed to streamline the creation, sharing, and management of fundraisers, drawing insights from millions of past campaigns to offer personalized guidance.

This new AI-enabled tool supports organizers from the initial setup through every stage of their fundraising journey. GoFundMe research indicates that fundraisers utilizing the smart fundraising coach show stronger early performance in terms of funds raised, initial donations, and overall engagement. Based on these early metrics, GoFundMe anticipates an additional $125 million will be raised this year in the U.

S. through the smart fundraising coach.

The interactive coach, initially available in the U.

S., assists users in crafting compelling titles and stories, setting optimal goals, and generating ready-to-share content optimized for various channels, including social media, email, and SMS. It also provides personalized recommendations for building momentum and driving donations, suggesting who to share with, which channels to use, when to follow up, and how to thank supporters. To maintain organizer engagement, the smart fundraising coach sends proactive SMS and email reminders with tailored recommendations, highlighting actions most likely to enhance success and reinforcing effective strategies.

A survey of early users of the smart fundraising coach revealed that 65-75% reported feeling less stressed, less alone, and more confident in creating and managing their fundraisers.

Tim Cadogan, CEO of GoFundMe, stated, “People come to GoFundMe looking for help from their community, often during the most challenging moments in their lives. We know that asking for help can feel overwhelming. That’s why we designed our smart fundraising coach to be a supportive partner – helping organizers craft their story, set an optimal goal, reach the right donors, and guiding them every step of the way so no one has to fundraise alone. At its core, the smart fundraising coach is about amplifying our ability to help each other.”

Fundraiser organizer Windy Pham commented, “The smart fundraising coach makes it so much faster and easier to run a fundraiser. I’ve been organizing fundraisers for years, and a lot of what I learned came from trial and error. This tool takes those lessons and turns them into clear, step-by-step guidance in real time. It helps ordinary people like me spend less time guessing and focus more time on helping others and making a real impact in our communities.”

The smart fundraising coach is the latest addition to GoFundMe’s suite of AI-enabled products. These tools include Intelligent Ask Amounts, designed to increase conversions by providing personalized ask amounts for nonprofits based on specific goals, and AI-generated ready-to-share videos and posters optimized for social media. GoFundMe’s AI development adheres to responsible AI practices, guided by a dedicated, cross-functional AI governance committee, which includes strong safeguards for user data, vendor oversight, and clear guidelines for AI development and use to ensure compliance with applicable laws and maintain user trust.

This launch follows several other recent company milestones. In May, GoFundMe surpassed $40 billion raised globally and unveiled GoFundMe Pro, reflecting increased investment in the nonprofit sector. GoFundMe was also recognized in TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies of 2025. In June, the company introduced Giving Funds, offering a simplified method to manage tax-deductible giving. Most recently, GoFundMe Pro added a new capability allowing nonprofits to launch peer-to-peer fundraisers directly on the platform, building on the momentum of over 80,000 nonprofit challenges launched on GoFundMe last year. GoFundMe is a community-powered fundraising platform dedicated to helping people help each other, having enabled over $40 billion in support for communities worldwide.
