Investors are advised to carefully read the prospectus and summary prospectus and consider the investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses of Northern Institutional Funds before investing. All investments are subject to investment risk, including the possible loss of principal amount invested. Investments do not typically grow at an even rate of return and may experience negative growth. Attempting to reduce risk and increase return could, at certain times, unintentionally reduce returns. The Portfolio seeks to preserve the value of your investment at $1.00 per share, but cannot guarantee this. An investment in the Portfolio is not a bank account and is not insured or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), any other government agency, or The Northern Trust Company, its affiliates, subsidiaries, or any other bank. The Portfolio’s sponsor is not required to reimburse the Portfolio for losses, and investors should not expect the sponsor to provide financial support to the Portfolio at any time, including during periods of market stress. While the Portfolio itself does not currently employ blockchain technology or invest in crypto assets, Digital Enabled Shares are expected to be purchased and held through intermediaries that intend to use blockchain technology to maintain a mirror record of share ownership for their customers.
