Blackfoot Communications, a Montana-based communications service provider (CSP) founded in 1954, has selected Aria Systems, a leader in AI-powered billing automation, to modernize its billing operations as part of a strategic consolidation onto the ServiceNow AI Platform, with global systems integrator Prodapt overseeing the implementation.

Following a period of rapid growth, Blackfoot Communications initiated a modernization program to replace multiple legacy platforms. This initiative aims to unify its technology stack onto the ServiceNow AI Platform, requiring a modern, AI-driven billing solution capable of native integration with ServiceNow and robust capabilities for sophisticated product bundling and complex pricing structures. Blackfoot Communications delivers high-speed fiber internet, VoIP, cloud collaboration, network security, and 24/7 managed IT services to residential and business customers across Montana and Eastern Idaho.

Aria Billing Cloud was selected after an extensive evaluation, primarily due to its native integration with ServiceNow via Aria Billing Studio. Further factors included its ability to support complex billing scenarios, a proven track record in assisting telecommunications customers at scale, and its history of successful joint implementations with Prodapt. Aria Systems enables enterprises to automate complex usage and subscription billing models and is recognized by Omdia, IDC, and Gartner.

Chad Gardner, Chief Revenue Officer at Blackfoot Communications, commented on the decision, stating, “As we transition onto the ServiceNow AI Platform, it was critical that our new billing platform could operate natively within that environment. Aria’s native integration with ServiceNow, combined with its experience in supporting other ServiceNow-centric CSPs, gave us confidence that Aria is the right partner as we modernize and future-proof our BSS stack.”

Beyond Aria Billing Cloud, Blackfoot will also utilize Aria Data Connect to feed real-time billing data to downstream analytics and business intelligence platforms. Additionally, Aria RevRec will be deployed to streamline revenue recognition processes and ensure compliance with ASC 606 requirements.

Tom Dibble, President & CEO of Aria Systems, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. “Blackfoot is yet another example of a CSP that recognizes the need to modernize their stack, and in doing so, concluded that the Aria and ServiceNow solution would be the best approach,” Dibble said.
